“The fifth promenade concert of the Seventh regiment band, under the leadership of Grafulla, was given last evening at the Regimental armory. The weather, though unfavorable, did not prevent the élite of the metropolis from attending. The spacious drill room was brilliantly lighted and appropriately adorned with bunting. The music consisted of choice operatic selections from popular composers, quicksteps, waltzes, polkas, etc., by Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Gungl and the leader of the band.”
