“Eichberg’s sparkling little operetta, ‘The Doctor of Alcantara’ drew a large audience to the matinee at the Olympic Theatre yesterday. Miss Richings, Miss Zelda Harrison and Mr. Seguin sustained the principal rôles and were received with enthusiasm. Miss Richings is indeed very different Ines from the others who have attempted that part since the opera was first produced here. Mr. Wylie made a very good Carlos and the younger Mr. Peakes appeared as Pomposo in place of his brother who was snow bound between this city and Boston. The operetta is always popular, as it is one of the cleverest and most ingenious adaptations we have of the kind.”
