Review: New York Herald, 14 February 1867, 8.

“Affairs—both musical and monetary—are apparently running in a very smooth channel, and crowded houses are the order of the night at this popular resort of our up town play-goers. The ‘Naughty, Naughty Girls’ loses nothing of its popularity, and is encored every evening the inimitable manner in which George Christy renders it provoking the most stolid to laughter. ‘The Four Birds of Paradise’ make the most ludicrous flights before the footlights every night to the infinite amusement of the audience; and the ‘Grand Orchestral Rehearsal,’ under the leadership of George Christy, still entrances all who assist at it.”

“Griffin & Christy’s Minstrels are doing ‘Four Birds of Paradise” at their Fifth Avenue House, and they are all done to a nicety, we are told.”
