“The Elise Holt Burlesque Company is doing well at the Waverley Theater, under the energetic management of Mr. Wall and Mr. Morris. ‘Lucrezia Borgia’ and a farce constitute the programme, which is presented every night and at a Saturday matinée. Mr. Howard Glover has been engaged to direct the orchestra at this theater, where, therefore, we may expect to hear music that is both tasteful and vivacious—as suits the merry mood of the gay burlesquers. Miss Holt has fulfilled our anticipation, in gaining an immediate and genuine popularity.”
