Announcement: New York Post, 02 May 1863, 2.

“Miss Krowlikowska, a pianist of a wide European reputation, is to give a concert this evening at Irving Hall; she will have the assistance of Mr. Gottschalk, who on this occasion, will make his last appearance before his departure from the city.”

Announcement: Courrier des États-Unis, 02 May 1863.

Today, the young artist gives a musical evening in her own name. Gottschalk fraternally lends her his assistance.  People will hear, moreover, Mlle Vivier, a singer recently applauded; M. Wm. Castle, the tenor in vogue; Bernard Bretto, 11 year old violinist; and Ricardo Bretto, horn-player of nearly 8 years.  These two children are already; say some, virtuosos of the first order.

Review: Dwight's Journal of Music, 30 May 1863, 36.

Gottschalk has been revelling in all his brilliancy and fascination, and, with Sanderson, Miss Krowlikowska, Mlle. Barnetche, Mr. Castle, Campbell and the Bretto children, has been giving concerts and matinées without number.  Miss Krowlikowska and Miss Barnetche have also given concerts and all have been quite successful.” Signed TWM.
