Review: New-York Times, 18 November 1869, 5.

“The performances of the Richings opera troupe at the Grand Opera House continue, with very satisfactory results. . . .Of the representation of ‘Fra Diavolo’ yesterday, we need but say that the opera was sung by Messrs. BROOKHOUSE BOWLER, ARNOLD, PEAKES and DRAYTON, and by Mrs. RICHINGS-BERNARD and Mrs. ANNIE KEMP BOWLER; and also that it was given with a unanimity of purpose and a certainty of effect, so far as each member of the troupe was concerned, deserving the heartiest praise.”
