“The fourth concert of Mr. Jerome Hopkins for the benefit of the Orpheon Free Choral School was given last evening at Apollo Hall and was a most magnificent affair. A splendid programme was offered and the large audience in attendance greeted the performers with several deserved encores. The entertainment commenced with Verdi’s cavatine, ‘Nabuco,’ [sic] by Signor Paolicchi, which was beautifully rendered, and was followed by the song of ‘Won’t you tell me why, Robin,’ by Mrs. Abbott, which received well merited applause. The ‘Snow Nymph Polka,’ a solo on the piano by Mlle. Zepherine, showed a superb mastery of the keys and was well received by the audience. The ‘Sea Spray Waltz’ a duet on two pianos, by Mlle. Zepherine and Mr. Hopkins, was one of the gems of the evening and was exquisitely rendered, as was also the ‘Tournament Galop,’ another duet by the same performers. Signor Catelli during the evening gave the ‘Brindiso’ from ‘Martha’ and Mr. Hopkins favored his auditors with the ‘Storm March’ of Liszt, both of which were well received.”
