Review: New York Herald, 19 February 1871, 10.

“Another grand concert took place last evening at the same hall, and was very well attended. It was given for the benefit, as we understand, of a church in this city, although this fact was carefully excluded from the programme. The artists were Mme. Anna Bishop, Miss Sterling, and Messrs. Wehli, Laurence, Bristow, Simpson, Warren and Florio. The chorus of the Mendelssohn Union also took part. The selections were rather desultory and incongruous, but were rendered in a very satisfactory manner.”
