“Philharmonic rehearsal this afternoon. In our box, Mrs. B. Emmet & two pretty little girls, Miss Mary Cunard, Dickon [Richard Henry Derby], Richard Hoffman, etc. Beside the orchestral piece, we had a lovely Mozart concerto, by Richard Hoffman, & some quite dreary singing by Miss Antoinette Sterling. House very full. Miss Mary Cunard is not exactly pretty, but her expression reminds me of her good & charming mamma.”
