“Mr. Charles Fitzsimmons yesterday gave a concert at Steinway Hall. Mr. Fitzsimmons is an organist of considerable talent, and his performances of Wély’s offertoire in F, and the overture to ‘Semiramide’ were heartily applauded. Valuable aid was afforded the gentleman by Mr. S. B. Mills, Mme. Gulager, Miss Drasdil, and the Weber Vocal Quartet, Mme. Gulager’s ‘Shadow Song,’ and ‘Non Conosci,’ from ‘Mignon,’ indicating a marked improvement in style, and Miss Drasdil rendering particularly well a prayer, by Hiller. The work of the Weber Quartet was a trifle uneven.”
