“Harper and Stansill, one-legged song-and-dance men, were the sole fresh appearances at the Olympic Theatre on Dec. 28, Mr. Stansil making his metropolitan debut. Mr. Harper had hitherto been seen in this city performing single-handed (or footed). Both of these men have suffered the amputation of their right legs midway between the knee and hip joints. They use crutches, and are enabled to do eccentric dances, which elicited much laughter and applause. They sing well, and their performances evince long and arduous practice…Attendance good.”
