“The UNION FAIR CONCERT.--Irving Hall was about two-thirds full at the concert given last night for the benefit of the Union Home and School for Soldiers’ Children.  Several of our leading musicians gave their services in the charitable object, and a band of Orpheonists--boys taught by Mr. C. J. Hopkins--sang under his direction several choruses. With better management the concert would have yielded a larger sum to the cause.

“THE UNION FAIR CONCERT.—A concert was given on Saturday night at Irving Hall for the benefit of the Union Home and School for Soldiers’ Children, at which several of our leading musicians gave their services, and a band of Orpheonists—boys trained by Mr. C. J. HOPKINS—sang several choruses under his direction. The attendance was by no means so large as the character of the performance and the philanthropic object for which it was given deserved.”
