“This popular troupe is drawing excellent houses in the Bowery.  The company is very good and very strong, and the hall is conducted in the best possible manner.”

“A succession of good houses have greeted the performances of Campbell’s Minstrels on the east side of the town since our last.  The entertainments offered have been of an unusually interesting nature.  We were in attendance on Friday evening, the 19th inst., and found the house quite full.  The first part of the evening’s entertainment passed off very well, the excellent singing of Katy Darling by Mr. Campbell being truly noteworthy.  Mr. Campbell is an old time singer, and whenever he is announced for a ballad the audience are sure of enjoying a treat.  In the second part, or what is termed the olio business, Mr. Frank Kent, the popular wench dancer, executed the fancy dance of Pas de Corsair in a truly creditable manner. . . . Little Willie Guy is a very clever little performer.  His performance of Sally Come Up was well done—in fact, much better than we have seen by performers of larger growth.”
