Converse, another popular and excellent teacher of the ‘old Cremona,’ has been tendered a complimentary benefit, as will be seen by a card in another column, by the leading music publishers of this city, as well as by some of the bright ‘lights’ in the ‘dark’ profession. The affair is to come off on the 29th inst. at Niblo’s Saloon, when a host of volunteers will appear.”

“The Frank B. Converse testimonial concert tendered him by the principal music dealers of this city and a number of professionals, comes off at Niblo’s Saloon on Thursday evening, the 20th inst., when the following volunteer talent will appear: [list of performers]. The entertainment will be vocal as well as instrumental. Some of the most popular ballads of the day will be sung. Mr. Converse will perform two of his best banjo solos in his best style. Two pupils of Mr. Converse will play a duet together for the first time in public, and a choice selection of violin, guitar and pianoforte solos will be performed. The performers are all first-class and the affair will, no doubt, be a successful one.”
