“The week opened with the ‘French Spy,’ with Miss Kate Pennoyer in the triple characters, but she essayed them so badly that the piece was wisely withdrawn the next night.  The rest of the performance was well received by the audience.  Lew Brimmer, Ethiopian comedian, and Harry Bloodgood, a burnt corkite, were added to the forces. . . . So far the business at this place has been first rate.”
