“The concert inaugurated by the Sunday school of St. Ann’s church for the benefit of deaf mutes took place last night at Steinway Hall, under the direction of Mr. William Berge. [List of participants] and a large chorus from the Mendelssohn Union assisted. The programme was an excellent one and was very well executed. Miss Marguerite de Fersen, a débutante, was very successful in a solo from Concone’s Judith, and gave promise of becoming a favorite in the concert room. Her sister, Miss Leonita de Fersen, was on the programme, but was compelled to absent herself through indisposition.”
