“The Enchantress still pursues its devious career at the Olympic. Why on earth Miss Richings still keeps this spectacular drama, with its worthless music, still on the boards we are at a loss to conceive. We only hope for better things next season when a fresh prima donna and good genuine operas will be given. But let us have no more of the Enchantress. The music in it is a foil to the spectacle, and would be much improved if it was merely a Black Crook drama, without any music. It is a pity that it should have usurped the place of such a beautiful opera as the Crown Diamonds. We are glad that it will be shelved on Thursday night. The sooner the better.”
