“Mrs. Mina Geary-Fitzpatrick has a benefit concert at this hall last night. The audience was large and in decided good humor. The fair beneficiare [sic] was assisted by the charming mezzo soprano Miss Fannie Stockton, who was received with well deserved applause; Mr. Hill, tenor; J. R. Thomas, the eminent baritone and composer; Mr. Dawson, pianist; Mr. Gould, guitarist and Mr. Dibble, accompanist. The program comprised selections from Kucken, Donizetti, Thomas, Wallace, Tory, Lover, Flotow, etc. Miss Stockton sang L’Addio from the Daughter of the Regiment, and received an enthusiastic encore. The other artists were very good.”
