“Steinway Hall.—George Colby, one of the best musical conductors in New York, gave his annual concert at this popular hall last night. No finer programme or no better artists have been presented to the public this season. Madame Parepa Rosa, Mrs. Jenny Kempton, Severini Pease, Carl Rosa, Ferranti, Randolfi, Hill, Morgan and the beneficiary appeared in a well selected programme.”

“The annual concert of Mr. G. W. Colby at Steinway Hall last night, was one of the best of the season, Madame Parepa-Rosa, Carl Rosa, Mr. W. J. Hill, Mr. G. W. Morgan, Mr. A. H. Pease, Mrs. Kempton, and Signor Randolfi lending efficient aid. It was a gratifying testimonial to the merit and popularity of a deserving gentleman and a competent musician.”
