Review: New York Herald, 19 November 1864.
“Faust, although no longer a novelty, is still a favorite, as the very crowded house last the Academy last night gives competent evidence. The weather was not favorable, yet there was present one of the largest audiences of the season. The inducement to venture out of doors was by no means inviting, but the house, nevertheless, showed no diminution in the number of its occupants.”

Brief review.  “’Faust’ was given here last evening to the usual attendance, namely, a house packed to its fullest capacity.  The cast was the same as heretofore, with the exception of the part of Siebel, which was played by Mlle. Morensi.”

Review: New-Yorker Staats-Zeitung und Herold, 19 November 1864.
The performance was completely sold out.  Morensi, with her splendid voice, gave a convincing performance as Siebel, though she’s not completely secure in the role yet.

Review: Courrier des États-Unis, 21 November 1864, 1.

“Friday, the performance of Faust went off without a hitch. We have nothing to add or subtract from what we’ve said previously about Mme. Kellogg, who always sings with equal amounts of accuracy and coldness. Mlle. Morensi was charming in the secondary role of Siebel.”
