Briefly mentions that Faust was performed before “a pretty good, but not crowded, house.”
“. . . and though the cast was not as thoroughly good as in the earlier parts of the season, the performance gave hearty satisfaction, Miss Kellogg and Lotti both singing unusually well.
“The ‘Faust’ performance last evening attracted a very brilliant audience sufficient to demonstrate that Gounod's great Opera has not yet lost its hold on the public, for it is one of the few works that have brought the ‘many-headed multitude’ to a consideration of something large, and out of the usual way. The performance last evening was excellent in all respects, and gave abundant satisfaction to the admirers of this standard work.”
