Announcement: New-Yorker Musik-Zeitung, 07 February 1866, 74.

Mr. Sesselberg, (or Seffelberg) bass singer, was not very successful here and is said to have gone on a tour with an unknown female singer. She is supposed to be from the Scala.

The opera Der Doktor von Alcantara by Julius Eichberg, the libretto written after the operetta Bon Soir Monsieur Pantalon, will be performed in the near future. The opera is light and pleasant and was very successful in Cleveland and Cincinnati. It is known that Mr. Eichberg has written several popular operas.

Carl Anschütz has fallen on the ice several days ago and suffered a broken rib. However, he is on his way to recovery and will soon pick up the conductor baton again.

Theodor Formes will return to Europe in the beginning of spring, however. He will probably come back to America in the winter. He has gotten more used to the “truly dangerous climate” this year.

The young pianist and composer Alfred H. Pease will return to Europe in April to continue his education.

The baritone Mr. Duschwitz has left Grover’s ensemble.
