“The Florences are doing a little in the burlesque line at the Winter Garden.”

Review: New-York Times, 06 June 1864, 5.
“Mr. and Mrs. Florence have achieved a genuine success in Byron’s burlesque of ‘Fra Diavolo.’ It has been given during the past two weeks and to constantly increasing audiences. Under these agreeable circumstances it will, of course, be continued until further notice. We know of no entertainment in the City that is so certain to afford a laugh to the visitor. The burlesque is preceded by the farce of ‘Thrice Married.’”

The Florences “have produced nothing new here.”
